Pious Affum is the Acting Registrar of Radford University College, Accra, where he provides administrative leadership and supports the effective coordination of the University College’s academic and administrative operations. In this role, he contributes to institutional governance, policy implementation, regulatory compliance, records management, student administration, and the efficient functioning of the Registry. He also works closely with Management, faculty, staff, students, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders to support the strategic objectives of the University College. Prior to his appointment as Acting Registrar, he served as the Head of the Quality Assurance Department at Radford University College, where he provided strategic direction and oversight for the development and implementation of quality assurance systems across academic and administrative operations. His responsibilities included coordinating internal quality assurance processes, supporting institutional and programme accreditation activities, facilitating internal and external quality audits, monitoring compliance with academic standards, and ensuring alignment with the requirements of the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) and other applicable quality assurance standards.
He has extensive experience in educational quality evaluation, monitoring, supervision, administration, and reporting, with approximately 15 years of professional experience in teaching and educational administration. Before joining Radford University College, he worked with the Ghana Education Service (GES) as a School Improvement Support Officer (SISO) for six years, where he was actively involved in school supervision, monitoring, capacity building, instructional support, and the promotion of effective teaching and learning at the basic education level. This followed five years of professional teaching and four years of school administration as a headteacher. He also served as a Team Inspector with the National Schools Inspectorate Authority (NaSIA), participating in school inspection exercises aimed at evaluating educational quality, institutional effectiveness, and compliance with national standards. These experiences have provided him with a broad understanding of educational administration, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, institutional improvement, and educational leadership across both basic and tertiary education.
Pious Affum holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with Linguistics and a Master of Philosophy degree in Social Psychology, both from the University of Ghana. He also holds a Diploma in Education from the University of Education, Winneba, and he is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Educational Psychology at the University of Cape Coast. His professional interests include higher education administration, quality assurance, educational leadership, institutional governance, educational psychology, monitoring and evaluation, regulatory compliance, and continuous institutional improvement. Through his current role, he remains committed to promoting effective university administration, academic excellence, accountability, and high standards of service delivery at Radford University College.
